Story
Russia or the beginning of the XI century in Russia. Kievan Rus’ is made up of principalities that are ruled by the sons of Grand Prince Vladimir of Kiev. The prince collects the tribute with his men and then sends it to his father in Kiev. In the north-east of Russia lies the most distant principality of Kiev – Rostov. Prince Vladimir sends his son Yaroslav to reign in Rostov when he turns 11. Jaroslav grows up under the tutelage of the princely-run boys while he is young. Growing up, Jaroslav takes power into his own hands, expands the principality, and annexes new lands. But this is no easy task. Bandit gangs rule the forest, along the roads and rivers. Their main occupation is the slave trade. The gangs sell the people to the Bulgars and Khazars, and they send the slaves to the lowlands of the Volga for resale. Jaroslav’s squad, more and more often, goes for tribute and finds empty, ransacked settlements of the Meria tribes. There is no law in the Rostov region. Only a strong force can change the situation.
